This is a short video (c. 2.5mins) of Penwith Housing Association tenants answering a few simple questions about their retrofitted GSHP heating. We decided to create this video as we had heard of other social housing residents in off-gas areas choosing electric storage heaters over GSHP. We thought the fear of something "unknown" might be one factor behind this, and that seeing other tenants experience might help to remove some of that fear. The residents agreed to be filmed for the purpose of showing others in social housing their experience. We wanted to make the long version available so that it is possible to see the full responses - so that it is clear to social housing provides that the positive response here is not just created in the edit! Copies are available as Mpeg1 (CD) or Mpeg2 (DVD) - we also have a WMV (windows media version) of the short version. These can be obtained by contacting Kala at ESD.

The homes at this site had coal fires with a backboiler before the GSHP - so these residents have the additional gains of not having to get coal in and the loss of the 'dirty' aspects of a solid fuel fire.
