Project Partners

Penwith Housing Association has pioneered the retrofitting of properties with ground source heat pumps in the United Kingdom. They installed GSHPs in fourteen bungalows in Ludgvan, Cornwall, replacing the existing coal heating and delivering clean and affordable central heating and hot water to residents, in accordance with the Association’s Affordable Warmth Strategy.

      

EarthEnergy Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of GeoScience Ltd, the UK's longest established specialist Geothermal Energy Consultancy and a leading UK designer and installer of GSHP systems.

Earth Energy Engineering developed a ground source heat pump system especially for installation in social housing. It is this system that has been adopted by Powergen for their ‘HeatPlant’ programme.


    

 


Eon are the UK’s second largest energy supplier, and have a history of involvement in energy initiatives. Eon’s HeatPlant package provides GSHP’s (including the boreholes & the HW cylinders) at a discounted rate.

Signpost Housing Association recently installed GSHP's in an existing block of flats and are the first housing association in the country to do this!

      
Drum Housing Association are planning to install GSHPs in a number of their existing properties early in 2006.
